Whole Person Development
The WPRA continually strives to improve the holistic development of its players/students, through exposing them to educational courses, lectures and skills transfer initiatives which are designed to achieve “Whole Person Development”.
Through our expanding number of partners, we design and offer a curriculum that will fit into the demanding schedule of a High-Performance Rugby Program.
Our range of courses and lectures cover a formal academic programme (such as Generic Management), as well as courses that cover aspects of Sport Psychology, Nutrition, World Rugby Coaching (Level 1) and Refereeing (qualification), Rugby Safety (Boksmart course), Technical rugby analysis and Sports Conditioning/Anatomy/Nutrition.
The formal academic programme is taught through one our academic partners- CTU Training Solutions but will expand on other courses from our other partners soon. Through these well-established partnerships we keep the players/students intellectually stimulated so that they can continue furthering their education for life outside of rugby.
The course that we have selected is a Generic Management National Certificate course on an NQF 4 level. This Course is designed to equip the individual for the working world and to increase their employability should rugby not work out – due to e.g. an injury.
